Together, VNG Realisatie and Logius are organizing a series of meetups aimed at software developers, IT operators and architects. Speakers are invited to talk about container orchestration and other 'cloud native' technologies.

The third meetup will be focussed on information security both inside and outside the Dutch government.

15:00 - 15:10: Introduction Roderick Schaefer, product owner team Haven at VNG Realisatie/Common Ground and Martin Dias d'Ullois, product owner Cloud Services at Logius

15:10 - 15:40: National Detection Network Sensor Platform Richard van den Berg, DevOps lead engineer at the Dutch National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC)

Richard will guide us through the technical aspects of the intrusion detection systems and sensors as deployed in the Dutch government datacenters and networks. Slides are accompanied by real code fragments and demos on their test environment.

15:40 - 16:10: Building a Foundation for Zero Trust Infrastructure Using SPIFFE Andres Vega, product line manager at VMWare and Evan Gilman, engineer at VMWare and co-author of Zero Trust Networks

“Zero-trust” mandates for strict verification of identity in systems. Strong identity enhances the authentication and authorization mechanisms necessary to implement zero-trust and thus establish secure communications across all of applications and infrastructure.

Andres and Evan will present how the open source project SPIFFE provides a standard solution to strong identity and makes zero-trust a realizable possibility for most (if not all) types of systems.
